PutAName collects no personal data and sends none to us.
Everything you enter stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We have no servers, no analytics, and no way to access your information. What data does the app store?
PutAName stores data you explicitly enter:
- Contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, birthdays, anniversaries, and notes
- Event logs and reminder settings for those contacts
- Maintenance categories, items, and service history
- Name groups and hints in the Remember tab
- App preferences (notification time, reminder intervals)
This data is stored in two places only: locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, and in your personal iCloud account if iCloud is enabled. Neither location is accessible to us.
Does the app collect analytics or crash reports?
No. PutAName contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, and no telemetry of any kind. We receive no data about how you use the app.
Does the app use advertising or tracking?
No. There are no ads, no tracking pixels, and no third-party SDKs. The app makes no network requests to any server we operate or any third-party service.
iCloud sync
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your data syncs to Apple's iCloud servers under your own Apple ID. This sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.
Notifications
PutAName uses Apple's local notification system to alert you when reminders are due. Notifications are generated entirely on your device — no data is sent to any server to deliver them.
App preferences
Preferences such as your notification time and reminder intervals are stored in iOS UserDefaults on your device only. They are not transmitted anywhere.
Children's privacy
PutAName does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app contains no features directed at children.
